China said Monday it would continue with a moderately loose monetary policy for 2010 while also pushing on with efforts to boost economic growth, state press reported.
The announcement came at the end of a key annual economic meeting to outline policy for next year.
The central economic work meeting was chaired by President and Communist Party head Hu Jintao, the official Xinhua news agency said, while economic policy for 2010 was laid out in a speech by Prime Minister Wen Jiabao.
"While handling next year's economic work, it is important to make thorough efforts to advance the transformation of our development mode," Xinhua said of a decision made at the meeting.
"We must maintain the continuity and stability of our macro-economic policy and continue to implement a proactive fiscal policy and a moderately loose monetary policy."
